I don't think two more matches - the semis - would have been too onerous. The buzz and momentum generated could be taken into Spurs and City, Instead, we go there as a beaten disappointed side. I expect a pasting at the weekend. These players have done wonders recently, but injuries and suspensions are biting and we no longer have momentum to float along on.

I was more worried with Keane and Danjumas pens than his. How wrong was I.

Strangely I wasn't worried about Keane. Danjumas yes. But also Onana and Gana. Center backs usually strike the ball well.

This is the 4th time in 6 years we've gone out of this cup in penalties and I can't remember any of the others.. It's a Mickey Mouse competition where you have to get lucky. City I think won it via 3 shootouts 1 year. I've said to my lad before they should just get all of the teams to go to Wembley pre-season and have a knockout penalty competition because that's about as representative.

I think tonight marks the end of his time at EFC tbh. Dyche is a lot like Wee Davey in many ways - get on his bad side and you're slowly phased out the team (look at Demari Gray).

I wouldn't be surprised if we cash in next summer if a top 6 club come looking unless he learns very quickly that the team comes first / no thrills under Sgt Sean.

That’s not a mistake slipping or smashing it over is a mistake, that penalty was negligent. Pathetic skip to the ball wasn’t even a run up then that attempt of a shot what even was it? Thinks he’s so much better than he is he’s an average baller nothing special don’t need players like him. He’s had about 6 decent games in 18 months.

Awful lot of nonsense in here. It's a perfectly valid way to take a penalty. Small bit of a delay and try to let the keeper commit. He made an absolute awful mess of it, but that can happen

The projection to claim he was arrogant or wanted to make it all about himself is the usual childish football supporter nonsense for me

And they win on pens because their combination of technique and mentality is usually superior. I think we could have won tonight - even should have won when Onana stepped up and decided to perform Riverdance.
