Every player has a price.

Anywhere around 70-80m we should be moving him on.

He’s a potential luxury we currently can’t afford.

Could have a more experienced player fulfilling the role he does for half of that amount.

So if an Engineer builds a bridge, and the bridge collapses, can he say "Well, I tried to build the bridge"?
I dunno, if a bridge collapses, I'd probably take a look at the company that built it. Did they use the right materials, did they cut corners re. labour, did they do the prep work to see if a bridge was suitable for the site. What were the other engineers on the build team like, was he given all the resources he needed? What was his track record like, was he successful at other companies?

So yea, good analogy.
If a bridge collapses. Blaming one engineer would be daft.

So basically some absolute scum abused our best player who happens to be 21 and he (no doubt wondering what mental capacity they have) reacted.

Those 'fans' are pretty fortunate that no Evertonians were sat nearby...if it was me there, there would have been some
ejections (including me).

I hope he isnt too dismayed by those (and a fair amount of posters) being terrible judges of a footballer.

No idea what was said to make him react like that. It could of been the most insulting thing someone had ever said to him or it could just have been a very minor thing which he over reacted to.

Either way I want my players to be focused on the game not on anyone or any comments from the crowd.

Nothing less than 80m which is unlikely, and frankly absurd (even though you couldnt rule this madness out)
Over next couple of years would much rather see him, for the club and himself, become the most valuable player, on field, in the team.
What's going to happen now if we get a rake of money from Onana.
Loaded up, we'll get fleeced for buying, and we'll waste it as we have been.
With the hope that in a couple of years we'll see any money for Onana handled better.
Who knows, we may have turned a corner with Onana, Harrison and Lisbon, just wouldn't be selling yet.
