I don’t think anyone who question his strolling come to such conclusion because he is black. You’re taking it too far. Gomes and Schneiderlin were slaughter for similar lack of effort far worst than this kid.

Yes they were. Gordon was as well.

The overtly racist comments and messages that he’s been sent are a disgrace and no one condones them. But to link criticism of his performances to the colour of his skin is actually disturbing and pretty racist itself for me.

Don’t think he did any worse than the rest today, esp considering he ended up being moved back to help shore up calamity Keane.
I saw quite late he was berating Keane for playing it sideways to Tarks rather than forwards to him. Looked very much like he was frustrated and desperate to try to claw something back from an all round bad day at the office.

I’m no fan of Keane but it’s a massive stretch to blame him for Onana being dreadful today - and he really was.

How often do we see black players accused of laziness before other players, their lifestyles and social media posts analysed in far more scrutiny. The good honest hard working pro trope is almost universally directed towards white players.
Can’t say I agree with that total nonsense, they get analysed on what they do on the pitch

Wasn’t the intention, more making the point he ended up in a position that doesn’t allow him to play to his strengths.
Equally the bit about berating Keane was more about him showing desire when theres been suggestions of laziness / cba attitude.
He was far from his best today but not sure he was any worse than numerous others.

There's been an undercurrent of racist attitudes towards the lad so it doesn't surprise with some of the bigots that follow the team are now being more open about it. There is a seriously nasty undercurrent to this fanbase and shouldn't be routinely dismissed as a minority. Its a game of footy ffs.
Any evidence stats or studies to back any of that up? For example social media posts analysed more? Lifestyles? Laziness?

Isn’t making a sweeping generalisation about white players racist?

Here’s an anecdotal study you can perform yourself, do a search on the word ‘lazy’ on ‘ this forum’ and you might be surprised.
In case you cba, Onana, che Adams, ismail sarr, Lukaku, Ekitake even DCL all come up along with journos, our scouting, Gomez & Maupey and that just a cursory whizz through the first page of results…..
Prob nothing in that mind…..
What would be quite fascinating is Onanas stats about distance covered etc and whether that reveals him being ‘lazy’ as a fact or a lazy trope from Ron Atkinsons era.

No. Whites are not a minority and institutionally marginalized.
amazing how you handle doublethink(the acceptance of contrary opinions or beliefs at the same time)

I asked chat GPT for some assistance on this as it clearly is racist making a generalisation based on a colour of skin.

“You could explain that racism is not solely about the number of people in a group or their societal status. Racism involves making unfair assumptions or judgments based on someone's race, which perpetuates stereotypes and discrimination. Point out that making generalizations about any racial group, including white people, is unfair and reinforces harmful biases. Emphasize the importance of treating everyone as an individual rather than making assumptions based on their racial background.” 👍🏻
