amazing how you handle doublethink(the acceptance of contrary opinions or beliefs at the same time)

I asked chat GPT for some assistance on this as it clearly is racist making a generalisation based on a colour of skin.

“You could explain that racism is not solely about the number of people in a group or their societal status. Racism involves making unfair assumptions or judgments based on someone's race, which perpetuates stereotypes and discrimination. Point out that making generalizations about any racial group, including white people, is unfair and reinforces harmful biases. Emphasize the importance of treating everyone as an individual rather than making assumptions based on their racial background.” 👍🏻
👍🏼

Here’s an anecdotally study you can perform yourself, do a search on the word ‘lazy’ on ‘ this forum’ and you might be surprised.
In case you cba, Onana, che Adams, ismail sarr, Lukaku, Ekitake even DCL all come up along with journos, our scouting, Gomez & Maupey and that just a cursory whizz through the first page of results…..
Prob nothing in that mind…..
What would be quite fascinating is Onanas stats about distance covered etc and whether that reveals him being ‘lazy’ as a fact or a lazy trope from Ron Atkinsons era.
Hardly the largest sample size. Statistics don’t work like that.

I heard the sterotype athletic pace and power. I certainly don’t attribute pace power and athletic with lazy?

The guardian is utter trash though and I’m not sure about the merits of the people who carried out the study, the methods used etc but it does make interesting reading. Not seen a study linking lazy?

how often do you see discrimination occur against the majority ? I guess you think BLM shouldn’t exist ? Chat GPT scrapes data on the internet. Depending on you questioning it is biased.

but back to Onana. A 19 year old lad playing in a foreign country, with a team on its knees and devoid of confidence. they are scared stiff and that’s down to the coaches. Even Lampard said he inherited a team with a losing mentality. A good coach will change that. Racist social media posts won’t

What do you define as the majority? The majority where? Big world from Africa, America, Asia and Europe. Or you mean white people in the west? Whereabouts in the west London, Merseyside?

As for BLM I’ve never really thought about it that deep if they should exist. What are the aims? Which ones are good and bad? What’s the best way to achieve them? Is there other possible ways of achieving them aims? I don’t really think in terms of slogans.

As for Onana being racially abused online, I think these people need to get a life. I guess the police will need funding to arrest the culprit though. I’m not sure what the punishment should be? arrested, criminal record, lose job, named shamed in media, thus no money no food, lose house end up on street for one stupid comment. Employment prospects damaged. Maybe a large fine for a first offence?

If any of the numbers touted round for his sale price are remotely true- £50/60 million I’d be seriously considering it. He’s got lots of potential but we need players who are going to positively impact the team week in week out. Not just the odd Hollywood tackle or crowd waving, but a midfielder that can grab the game by the scruff of the neck and run the game type performances.

Onana is 22 and has been in the country for over a year. Let's change the narrative about him being a naive teenager. He's a multi-millionaire bursting with confidence with his showboating photo shoots in designer clothes and singing on social media. When he plays crap people are allowed an opinion, especially when he's more interested in waving his arms to the crowd asking for noise rather than concentrating on his own game.

That opinion cannot be a racist one but it can be based on his contribution. One moron again today has made the headlines but Onana stunk the place out and was anonymous.

Said it from day one, he is vastly overrated and no big club will bid anywhere near £50m on what he’s done so far. He’s in the game 10 mins out of 90.
Potential means nothing if you don’t fulfill it and he has a long way to go.
I really can’t tell if he’s a bottle job who goes missing or like Davy Klaasen he doesn’t know how to actually get involved.

What’s the solution for this lad then? I was underwhelmed very early last year because the mistakes he made were nothing to do with speed of the PL, youth, new country, but he kept getting a free pass. He always did little going forward, tackles very well, but NEVER tracks opposition midfielders into our box when they run near him. No shame in that if attacking players do it and switch off, but there are calls for him to be a DCM? But everyone said time was all that was needed, so we all waited.

He is in a pickle here almost entirely due to his past and previous coaching/managers. He has shown today and last week when facing the opposition goal, deep, with a bit of time he can spot and brilliantly weight passes (3 in 2 games at least). But I wouldn’t want him deep despite the last ditch tackling ability, he doesn’t track. Ever. It’s not laziness, he just doesn’t naturally scan and follow. His attacking attributes are at odds with his defensive ones for a CM.

If we were solid in the middle, the only thing left is to play him as the more attacking midfielder and “rest” Doucs, who has my eternal gratitude, but isn’t on it. See if he can play with a bit more freedom until the rest of his awareness matures? Haven’t decided whether he makes the best decisions instinctively in tight spots, or whether he’s better with load of time. He might not end up playing forward, but if he has the potential that everyone in world football says he has, it would be great if our spine was strong enough to tell him to just go out, get the ball as much as you can in attacking positions, relax and see what happens. Something has to change, and benching him feels like it would be as much Dyche’s fault as his. But we are too crap to experiment and play people into form.

Haven’t seen any of the aftermath, but the Insta abuse is abhorrent (whoever they support), needs highlighting and stamping out hard even if it brings more negativity and criticism to the club.

Attend what would only need to be a short seminar explaining what causes skin pigmentation, a longer seminar about historical racial injustices, a slap 'round the ear and a headlock

So very true.

Not only is such alleged behaviour from so-called 'supporters' shameful and potentially criminal, it's also hardly likely to inspire the lad to reach his full potential.

Just utterly moronic.
