Agree with the post but not this bit mate.

While it was a shock to the system, that didn't need to be the case.

They simply appointed the worst possible replacement.

I definitely did not expect to be in the bottom 3 on the 5 May, but I expected a much worse season. I thought we would drop by 10-15 points. Appointing Benitez made the situation 10 times worse, and is the reason we are in deep trouble. I'm trying to stay a bit more optimistic after Sunday, but we are still as likely to go down as stay up.

I don't think people quite realise just how good Ancelotti is at his job. He knows how to win, and will find ways to do it that no one else can.

But I am still pretty sad with how things ended with us. Yes it was Real Madrid, and we are crap, but it left a bad taste. It was pretty much certain we would have a bad season the minute he ditched us.
I still think he left because moshiri told him at that meeting in London that we were skint.

I know it is Madrid, but he was asked about the Madrid job a few weeks before that meeting and said he wasn't interested. His son was in the middle of buying a house in woolton when he left.

This could be easily be true, and I'll guess we'll never know. But part of me just thinks it's Real Madrid. It's easy to say no when you maybe don't think the job is available.

Problem with that is that Moshiri had been on Jim White literally weeks before saying that Carlo would be backed in the summer window.

Athletic reported that him and Brands had targets lined up.

Our financial situation didn't just appear overnight, so a plan will have been put together.

The Fat Waiter did say part of the trouble transfer wise was not getting people out the door. Think Carlo would've made sure there were plenty out.

A plan was there before it got ripped up

But they surely could've continued with that plan in ancelotti's absence? That is the whole point of having a DoF.

Yeah I remember a press conference he did, were he mentioned about ignoring FFP and pretty much going for it. Seems after that, that he was let down by Moshiri, and then done one to Madrid.

This all day - to go from don Carlo to the Spanish turd was just lunacy - I don’t think we have the season we have had if Benitez isn’t appointed, it’s that simple.

Appoint any other manager in world football before tapastits and we do better, even bloody victor P.

Bentiez torpedoed a lot of it. Nunes and Dumfries being 2. Brands had worked on getting Diaz. Patterson and Maitland-Niels were rejected by their club's. Van Der Beek was offered in the summer on loan.

Patterson and Mykolenko were already on Brands/Carlos books.

Stop with the worship for him it's embarrassing. People are acting like he's some grandpa figure who lives far away but still sends us Christmas cards reminding how of much he loves and thinks about us. The man walked without a backwards glance, I don't blame him but why are people still acting like he's some hero?

If you're not here with us then you're against us, all successful clubs show this mentality. The over-emotional, 'as long as the RS lose' is one of the biggest things that's held us back for decades now.
