Bojan did alright for stoke to be fair. He’s never been a goal scorer even when he was at Barcelona, but he was always a creative threat for stoke.

Gomes is undoubtedly a high quality player, you only need to look at his career stats to see that. He’s had a bit of a wobble and it’s not a given that he’ll be great for us. If he can regain his form and fitness though, he can be the best midfielder we’ve had for 10 years.

Yeah, I hope so mate. I haven’t seen much of him at all. His calibre should be high just by playing for the teams he has, but it doesn’t always mean they’re as good as they should be. The 4 summer signings who have played so far have done really well, if he can slot in like them we should be in a good position.

I would disagree mate i think Jimmy Mc is coming in for the Davies role when fit at no 8.

I dont think that will be until Nov so Gomes has the opportunity to prove himself but he has to oust Davies first.

I think Gomes has it all to prove myself, hes the shiny new thing and understandably fans have hopes and want to have a look at him. He could be anything really but he has to prove himself first.

I really don't rate Mccarthy and think he'll be gone in January/Summer.

Then again, you always need one or two industrious players in your team.

Sir Alex used to love Park and Fletcher for this reason.

So true, pienaar springs to mind, great in the Dutch league, flop in the German league, crap with Spurs but fantastic with us. Same can be said with coutinho, inter Milan couldn’t believe their luck when the kopites offered £8m for him.
