They should (spurs) but in this day and age and their poor run of form, they won’t want to be without a key player for 3 games. Sadly they won’t bother about Gomes and the lack of morals over an appeal, all they want is the red card rescinded.Genuinely think appealing it is in pretty bad taste. It was a deliberate foul and a player got very badly injured. Whether you think it’s a red by the letter of the law or not, just accept that in the grand scheme of things a ban is justified.
Which makes Son’s/Spurs’ reaction to the incident even more disingenuous. Apologise, bear the responsibility and move on from it.They should (spurs) but in this day and age and their poor run of form, they won’t want to be without a key player for 3 games. Kevin Nolan defending Son and calling out the ref.
Sums up the media today well. A kopite talking utter nonsense.
Said this to a spurs mate when I spoke to him last night. Of course Son didn’t want to injure Gomes but he did want to foul him. He made no attempt to win the ball and what made the tackle more dangerous is that Gomes wasn’t expecting it, as Son was nowhere near the ball.Mad thing about the sympathy with Son narrative is that it wasn't even your classic 'bring the man down to prevent the counter and take the yellow card'. Gomes was going nowhere and Son has charged across the pitch to challenge the man and not the ball. He's in zero control of what happens to Gomes once he's made contact either.
If we have to be without our best midfielder for a few months and Gomes having to endure an injury like that in his prime, I'm sure Son can spend a few weeks on the sidelines.

But he was really upset about it.Yeah if you intentionally foul someone and they break their leg because of it you can't argue with a red surely?

I do think football is very lenient on fouls were players have no real intention of doing something legal. But no obviously they shouldn't all be reds. However they should be super automatic yellows and that definitely isn't how it is handled right now.Are we giving red cards for every foul now?
Some fouls lead to broken limbs, others don’t. The fact that it was clearly a hot-headed reacted in retaliation to something which occurred a few minutes previously tells you that he meant to take him down, and taking him down led to a broken ankle. Are we giving red cards for every foul now?
