So what you are saying is that he gets red `because of the outcome'.Is it any better than a non-deliberate foul in which the player’s foot accidentally makes contact to cause the break? This was a deliberate foul made from behind which put a player who was running at pace in danger.
of course it was caused by Son. It wasn’t accidental at all. He meant to slide into him from behind while Gomes was running at pace. At the point Son decides to do that (as retribution), he has lost control of what happens to Gomes as a result. He was reckless, out of control, and because of the outcome it is a red card.
Totally get what you’re saying, but the consequences do matter in my opinion.Surely weve all played the game and weve all had "That fella is getting it next chance I get it", I mean ive fouled loads of people, not once have I intended any damage other than a bruised shin or thigh.
Utterly imbecilic.
Honestly, I thought our supporters understand a bit about the game.

Yes probably Son was a bit hyped up from the incident just before, but it wasn’t like he made a tackle like Keane did on Haaland and Taylor made on Coleman just to name 2, sons wasn’t a clever tackle but imo on the serious scale from 1 to 10 I’d say it was a 4 (yellow card was the right decision imo) I’d say that type of tackle happen 5 times every game rarely causing injury, to me this was all just very bad luck. I’m an Everton fan but looking at it as a neutral, obviously I’m bitterly disappointed we have lost Gomes for so long, but at least they say his surgery went well which is very good news.Absolutely nothing to do with what had happened moments previously?
Imbecilic lolSo what you are saying is that he gets red `because of the outcome'.
You surely can see how ridiculous that statement is?
So you will have players rolling around after every foul now, get stretchered off, whilst the assailant gets a red card. Then they make a lazuras
like recovery off the stretcher and go back on the field.
Utterly imbecilic. I have heard some carp over years but we have loads of people here saying now that football should bring in punishments based on the severity of injury inccured after any misjudgment, foul etc etc
Honestly, I thought our supporters understand a bit about the game.
Only 3-4 months out apparently
I get what you’re saying, but at the same time, the way he was taken down assumes that he couldn’t ride the tackle. Perhaps it was the way he was running, the way he was taken down, the speed at which it was done. That tells me it was dangerous.no mate its based on people clashing and legs getting allsorts of stresses put through them. every now and then they break ...
if Son had done a dirk kuyt type lunge and gone through Gomes at shin height and broke his leg , id be the first person calling for a lifetime ban from the game , that would be toatally unacceptable, but trying to pin an unfortunate incident on him like this is pretty pointless. 99 times out of 100 Gomes would have just rode the tackle as normal and carried on, its just this time his studs locked into the turf ..
Totally agree with this.Totally get what you’re saying, but the consequences do matter in my opinion.
If I’m driving down the road on my phone and the police see me, I maybe expect a flashing light and someone to say don’t do that again. If I’m doing the exact same thing but I hit a pedestrian and they break a bone, I expect a bit more of a punishment. Same situation, different consequence, different outcome for me. Same thing here. I don’t think anyone thinks he should have the book thrown at him, just that a red card isn’t an unjust punishment in the circumstances.
There should be only two opinions from Everton fans on whether Son’s red card should be appealed:
1) Absolutely not he’s a sh!thouse
2) Don’t care either way
Really don’t understand what is possessing fellow “blues” to argue Son’s case so vociferously?
Son didn’t act decently.Decency.
