Less than a minute later Gomes's ankle was snapped, after Son sprinted 30odd yards and lunged in from behind. Nobody can convince me of anything other than Son's 100% guilt in what happened, not even Gomes coming out and saying that he doesn't think Son was at fault.
The FA will probably retrospectively give Gomes a red card for this now
They will brandish the red card as he is lying in his hospital bed

It is really unbelievable that someone's leg was broken by reckless actions from opponents and no punishment is going to come from it. I'm not sure if Son is more responsible or if Aurier coming over and clattering him is what did it, I don't have the video to find out, but the FA do and they should make the decision and ban that player. To not suspend anyone is a disgrace and a signal that reckless play is ok so long as you feel bad after you've maimed your opponent.

That's a bit unreal. His actions caused a SIGNIFICANT injury of a fellow player. Regardless of whether he was the one who did the actual injuring, his foul was what caused it to happen.

I honestly think some people are watching the incident in slo mo

Watch the tackle in real time, it's wreckless, out of control, from behind, at speed and the tit has broken Andre's ankle as a consequence of being a petulant tit cos Andre has the audacity of shielding the ball from him a minute earlier.

I'd love to see Everton kick up a stink bit there's more backbone in a jellyfish than there is in our club unfortunately

My thoughts at the time were that it was a yellow. When I saw the reasoning the FA gave for upgrading it to a red I thought it made perfect sense, and was actually a rare show of common sense from them. Now they've backtracked on their own logic. It's of no interest to me whether Son serves a ban or not, but I think the whole thing has been handled pretty badly, by both Spurs and the FA.
