It's a certain red.

You said he's blameless. I say that's complete nonsense. If he'd done a normal tactical foul by pulling him down then we'd not be in this predicament.

I don't normally disagree with you but I think you've been a million miles off with your shouts on this.

We can disagree and still be frandels.

If thats a red card im expecting to see 5 or 6 red cards a game in future.

It's not just the media who think the Son sending off was harsh though, it seems to be the majority of football fans... do you think its possible that because we support the club of the injured player we perhaps don't have the most objective of outlooks on the subject ? Id say that's more likely than the media, officials and majority of fans all being biased against Everton.

No. We're a soft touch so they naturally side against us. It's not fashionable to go against spurs.

Of course we can disagree.

But no there won't be 5 reds. Thankfully we don't see 5 lunges with no intent on the ball every week. Or 5 serious injuries either.

We need to see a reaction on the pitch. But we need to learn to stand up for ourselves above all.

Should Rondon have been sent off for the McCarthy thing?

Are we only giving red cards when serious injury is caused?

Does a serious injury mean an automatic red card?

Absolutely not.

That tackle was not a foul and within the rules of football. I had a perfect view that day in the top balcony and it was truly horrible to watch. But I don't attach blame.

This was an act with only one aim - to foul a player cynically and leave a mark on him. The key point is that Son left his feet and did not make any attempt to play the ball. That is an extremely rare challenge in modern football!!

I watched Gareth Barry make almost the same tackle on a weekly basis.

Barry made some poor ones yes. But most of the time at least attempted the ball. The ball wasn't in the shot on Sunday.

Why is it “definitely malicious“ and not “possibly clumsy”?

Son has conducted himself well throughout, for me. He’s essentially looked down the camera and apologised tonight, didn’t need to do that.

..... yet will still come to Goodison and get dogs abuse next year from certain fans who’d not only be happy to see his leg broken - but are actively demanding strong tackles to ‘prove we’re not soft’

All a bit mental really.

Bbc report on spurs 4-0 win over red star,
"Son Heung-min scored twice following a difficult few days to take Tottenham towards the Champions League knockout stages by thrashing Red Star Belgrade." Is that a bloody joke, he made a reckless and careless tackle and needs to stop getting all the sympathy.

Don't come at me on your high horse claiming I want anyone's legs broken. I've never said anything like that. Don't respond to my posts again if you're going to make pathetic baseless accusations.

I just wanted an apology, a bit of contrition and to accept his ban with good grace.

I didn’t say that you’d said that.

There’s been several posts I’ve seen of this nature in the last few days.....

I wouldn’t have had any problem with one of our players giving Son a good kicking and seeing red after that tackle.

Insane.

Well you can like it or not, but I'll be one of many giving him 'dog's abuse' at every opportunity next season.
His attitude and the over the top sympathy Son has been getting is an insult to Gomes and to every Evertonian in the lad.
Do I hope Son gets his leg broken at Goodison? Of course not.
Will I shed a tear if he does? See previous answer.
