The little cameo performance against Arsenal was exactly what we need to see from him consistently, whole range of passing on display there.

Barcelona's transfer business has been complete crap since the window they bought Suarez Rakitic and ter Stegen. Seriously go look at it. Big names but about 4 players have given them more than one good season. Combine that with the fact that Gomes basically never was in favor there and it is clear that Barca signing him means little now.

Shocking by their standards but you're making out that players like Vidal, Turan, Alcacer, Countinho, Dembele etc are all dogger.

They're not. They're good players just not working out at that club.

I love it when people make up mad stuff like this to make out people are being unreasonable in expecting a player to do their job. 'You moan when he kicks it in his own net and you moan when he kicks it straight to the opposition, he can't win can he'.

It was more pulling up peoples dramatic opinion after a poor performance.

They're not. They're good players just not working out at that club.

Vidal was on my good signing list.

Turan was horrendous business.

They never had the right idea of what Coutinho was. Also shocking to pay what they did for him. Honestly selling Neymar for 200m and wasting 70% of it on Coutinho might be the worst thing they've done even if he's a fine enough player.

Dembele isn't actually a bad signing, but it hasn't worked mostly because he plays the same position as Messi. They did that with Malcom too.

Alcacer didn't fit or work at all.

The players aren't all horrendous isn't really a defense when you're Barcelona. Of course they aren't signing players with 0 ability, but it doesn't mean they're all good signings and it doesn't mean because they signed someone he automatically gets excused.

I think he could be very good with a strong commanding midfielder beside him but he is not the player to play the leadership role on his own and instead plays a very conservative game with no chance of making errors... or creating anything either.

He's replicating what Schneiderlin was slaughtered for. Allowing everyone to run past him with ease, and cacking himself so much that he only passes backwards.

He's elegant mind, very elegant - but shight.
If he ever gets his attitude and effort sorted and properly fit, he'll still be part of the problem not part of the solution. He'll be 5th choice in a 4 man mid field - a squad player...but only if you're stuck with nobody else to play.

Barca let him go for a reason
We thought his loan period was 'OK' and just wait until he has a decent pre-season and really hits his stride.
Sorry to all his fan boys and girls...and I was kidded too - for a short time...we all allow our selves to be kidded.

The injury has ruined him. I hold out a tiny bit of hope that he can start next season sharper, but he can barely move at the moment.

Dunno what the injury has done but really he wasn't all that good before the injury.
