Absolutely devastating mate - but Gomes wasn't the only one at fault for the goals scored. But he was shocking. Then again we still could and should have scored a few to achieve a result.

Between Siggy sitting so high and Schneiderlin sitting so far, I can say with confidence that he was all alone in there. We have to fix the shape or we will see the same exact thing we saw on Friday.

Unfortunately our midfield situation has become an issue very quickly. Just honestly gutted Gbanim is out.

That was an absolutely diabolical display against Villa and if I was the manager I would make it clear that I don't care who you are, if you put in another performance like that then you're out of the team. It was genuinely pathetic from Gomes. I know it doesn't help with Schneiderlin next to you, but everything he did was wrong, including ballooning the ball into the stands under no pressure at all outside their box. He was so negative, ponderous, slow on the ball. Is something wrong with him?

He a good player generally just very inconsistent. When he has had bad games for us they have been really bad.

Probably why he plays for us and not Barcelona still.
