please do not make the annoying mistake of thinking that pre-son injury he was a player......... he wasn't.

Alongside Barkly he is one of the most technically talented but weak minded footballers I have ever seen. Has no grit about him at all.... compare him to Henderson across the park, Gomes would lose and find him for footballing ability but his overall impact isn't a fraction of Hendersons because he has no desire or bottle.

Not the player for a relegation battle. Surely frank sees that now. Cannot cannot cannot cannot play in a 2 man midfield in the premiership. Cant understand why any coach with a pro badge thinks it will work with all the proof in front of them.
Got to be 3-5-2, we literally need a wall in midfield to shield our hapless defence.

I've said it before, Gomes is just not suited to this league, he needs far too much time and space on the ball for the high pressure English game.

He looked very good in his loan spell, but, in his second season he had been sussed. Most teams realised that if you stood off him he was a very good player, but, if he was denied space and time when receiving the ball, he couldn't cope.

In fairness to Son, Gomes was no great shakes before his injury because most teams knew exactly how to negate him. I still think he would be good in Spain or France, but here? He might have the odd decent game when the opposition don't get tight enough to him, but, that's about it.

He’s also a [Poor language removed] on the pitch with his stupid so called tackles. The fella doesn’t give a [Poor language removed] about our predicament
