That is why we are where we are financially even if we recouped 80% on those players or didn’t over pay to sign them and then overspend on their contract. We would be Ina great position and would probably be nowhere near the bottom 3

That needs to be looked at in the context of how many games they played for us.

Clubs often sign players in their late twenties/early thirties with really no hope of a sell on fee. However if they play a lot of games for them then they regard that as fair value.

In the list you supplied there were some who were a disaster under both metrics and a few who did play a number of games for us.

“Great” is too far He’s a good passer.

He does not play well out of possession. He can be bypassed easily. His go to defensive move is the late challenge for a cheap foul. In his last sustained period of action for us he was among the league leaders in most fouls per 90. He just doesn’t have the ability to contest control of the middle of the park. That’s already a soft underbelly for us.

*nods* Square peg, round hole. If we put him in an advanced position, he can dictate a game, but we're not a possession team. He's a cone in defense. He just doesn't do anything constructive for what we are.

We just have zilch for depth behind the front three.
