Unless he gets a move to Turkey, needs to be in the match day squad to play the 'Tom Davies' role. Not massively appealing but better than having two keepers and a couple of spaces on the bench.

Correct. We need options final 20 mins which is why is was wrong to sell Gray. In the final 20 when the o pool ace has slowed Gomes limitations are not as badly exposed

If he doesn’t go to Turkey or Mongolia or wherever the footballer shops are still open, play him. Forget his injury it’s today that matters. Play him from the start or play him from the bench but just play him. If he makes a positive difference in just one game it might be all we need the way we are at the moment.

Completely different pace of player in French league and also Lille are a top 5 team generally so different expectations.

My last memory of Gomes actually on the pitch was Lampard randomly chucking him into the Brentford home game near end of 21/22 and he had a shocker. Couldn't pass, couldn't run and really that spelt the end of his Everton career there and then so just counting down the months until his deal runs out.

He'll go in January at the latest.
