Can you imagine what it must be like earning the sort of wage he's on and not having to do the most important job you're paid to do?
Yes.

I don't really do what I'm paid to do at work.

I also spend time imagining what it would be like to earn six figures a week. I do this imagining whilst at work.

Can’t afford to play him in the positions Onana or Gueye have been playing this season as he’s too slow and terrible at timing tackles so will be booked within ten minutes and then anonymous.

When Doucoure goes to afcon then he would be a possibility to play the less disciplined role in the three as his passing is much better than Doucoure but we wouldn’t get the energy and occasional high press possession win we do from Doucoure

Ideally a fit Dele combines both the press and the passing skill

I don't remember the same depth of abuse prior to the injury
Oh I do, especially that season.

He missed 3 months of playing time, it's not like he was out for years, It was a nasty injury don't get me wrong but the only thing it ruined for him was the opportunity to coast by for another 6 months in the first team whilst contributing very little and moving around the pitch like a glacier.

He has got a lot of ability I reckon but he is far too slow and wants too much time on the ball and can be weirdly sloppy for a player with his talent. He has always been this player both before and after his injury. It's probably why he ended up at Everton in the first place.

That said if he is to remain our player this season then he should be in the match day squad because it's not like he is a totally horrific player either.

I cite my age for not remembering but I certainly agree he should be in the match day squad - certainly ahead of a third keeper and possible Keane

He’s a better option than bringing Davies on like we did a bit last season. At least he can help see out a game in the unlikely event we are ever leading one.

Aye, if we're paying his wages, and he isn't going elsewhere, then we'd be fool hardy to not integrate him into the squad, and have him as an option.

Gomes on the bench brings experience and the chance of an option, rather than the paper thin options we currently possess. It's got to be worth a try, at least.
