And so he should...we don't have that many options in midfield really and we could do much worse than him as cover. Yes he is not the quickest footballer around but it is up to dyche to find him a position where he can help the team because the guy is talented...probably his wages are a bit of a problem especially for a player that is unlikely to be in the first 11, but financially surely we must be alright now until January at least.

Crystal Palace (H) - Dragged off half time at 0-2. (We go on to win 3-2)
Brentford (H) 2-3 - Dragged for Jonjoe Kenny on 71 minutes at 2-3.
Crystal Palace (A) 0-4 - Plays full 90.
Southampton (A) - Comes on half time at 0-0, we lose 0-2.
Newcastle (A) 1-3 - Dragged on 60 minutes at 0-2.
Aston Villa (H) 0-1 - Dragged on 51 minutes at 0-1
Norwich (A) 1-2 - Full 90.
Chelsea (A) - Dragged for Gbamin on 71 minutes at 0-1, we equalise on 74.
Crystal Palace (A) 1-3 - Plays the full 90

That is, for Andre personally, nine successive defeats to finish his time at Everton. I know people will say 'but we ended up winning v Palace and ended up drawing at Chelsea etc, but I guarantee the stats guys look at things like this. Unfortunately he is a liability.

The last time Andre Gomes started in an Everton league win was Arsenal away behind closed doors in April 2021, and even then he was hooked before we scored the winner.

Yes, but we need his good looks to cancel out the mirror-shattering looks of Dyche.
 
Could be useful for us when we need to play keep ball or in the rarer scenario of us playing a team that are sitting in against us and are hard to break down. Would rather we just cash in personally but numbers are thin as they are so maybe it is best that he's staying.
 
The injury turned his weaknesses into making him a complete liability in this league.
But he’s always appeared to be a model pro & Dyche is right to treat him with respect now it looks like he’s here for now.

Speaking at his pre-match press conference before Sunday's clash against Arsenal, Dyche responded when asked about Gomes' future by LiverpoolWorld: I think it's unlikely. He's been very unfortunate with injuries - not major injuries. He's aware I want him to get fit, I want him to be part of what we're doing.

“I think that he's a very good footballer, I think he's shown that down the years so I think it's unlikely and he'll be here by the end of today - and I hope that he is.



Dyche comes across as absolutely clueless.
 

He's been injured and unavailable for about 40+ games since he signed. That's without the 18 games missed with the broken ankle.

A lot of games missed with little niggles here and there, then available for a few games then another niggle.

What do you want him to say?

"Hes complete pony and I will never play him".

Hes gotta big him up cos theres a real chance he will be needed on the pitch in the next few months.
