I have a nagging suspicion he simply dominated in Italy because the slower tempo suited his play.

Arshavin unfortunately lacked the work ethic from the outset. Got away with it early on, but when Arsenal needed to dig in, he went totally missing.

The Shevchenko transfer was worth it for Chelsea - yes they paid a load for him and yes he was not that good but almost as soon as they signed him Drogba turned into the absolute mustard that he continued to be until he left (the first time), because he had to or he knew he would be dropped.
