I'm monitoring all of the available (Ukrainian) sources for the current info. The "new contract" offer by Kyiv's boss is a PR move more than anything. Yarmolenko has stated more than once he's not going to sign a new contract.
The 1 year extension he signed last year was for the benefit of the club, if anything, so the club can get money for him (this was mostly due to Konoplyanka situation and Yarmolenko wanted to show loyalty to the club that way).
There's NO chance in hell Yarmo is signing a new contract, trust me.

It's appalling it really is. The one type of player everyone in football, never mind us, know's we've needed for a year is still not in place with one week left in this summer window.
It's just not on really. It's bad enough we're dropping points already in the first handful of games that could have been won. But to have no one in and ready to go for the next few games is unforgivable.
How could we end up in this position, waiting on some friggin' megalomaniac club owner in eastern Europe to say yay or nay?
Can you imagine the media if this nonsense was going on with Spurs or Liverpool, never mind one of the elite clubs in the PL?

Just hearing the owner has demanded contractual assurances that Naismith or Kone will never start before Yarmolenko as that would be seen as a significant national insult to the Ukraine.
