This loan should do Anthony Gordon the world of good. Plenty of footballing minutes to be had and an opportunity to improve his game. Best of luck to the lad.

Look i don't think his future is in any doubt but i think it's fairly obvious the reason he was'nt getting in the team recently ie he just isn't good enough. I can't say i have noticed anything much with him other than the odd drop of the shoulder, he is not blessed with bags of pace and he did'nt seem to be any kind of a goal scorer. Best let's see how he gets on at Preston, i'm not expecting too much tbh.
Not trying to compare them but Beckham went on loan to Preston at the same age.
He has got to improve on what he offered here. Cannot see Preston putting up with 5 mins here and there of good work and nothing for the rest. It is entirely up to Gordon to push himself and get more involved in games or he will be dropped. I am not sure he can do it myself but hope I am proven wrong. Hope he gets inspired like Coleman did
Yeah that's what I was saying. To me I don't think there's been a single performance from him where i've come away saying he looks a player. That's fine, he's got plenty of time to improve, but I am not in the slightest bit surprised that he hasn't had more chances because I don't think he's done anything to earn them.

Good acceleration when on the ball, but not the kind of quick that has defenders concerned that he’ll get in behind. A bit like Iwobi.
Iwobi's one of the slowest wingers I've seen at Everton in my life. Magaye Gueye-esque in how he seems stuck in treacle.
Way way way too early to judge. He’s had one pretty anonymous part game and a few cup appearances where he was ok. Some good chances and created a goal.
Last season he had some games where he looked more controlled. As good ascanythingbelsevwe had. Playing regular football in the championship will help him no end. That is his real platform for improvement.

Nah i can't agree, not seen anything from him so far that makes him stand out, i think it's clear why Carlo was'nt picking him for team. As i said lets see how he gets on at Preston, i'm not expecting too much though. I'm hardly the only person that thinks it either if you look.
And this is the challenge not just to Ancelotti and the Everton fan base but to himself. He has to believe he's good enough. I've seen enough of him in the u23's to show he was head and shoulders above anyone and has everything in his locker.
Hes barely shown any of the things that he's good at. This kid has pace, can take a player in, cos great with the ball at his feet and can finish. Only little fleeting moments has he shown this (assist for Richarlison against Leicester last season, assist for Tosun against Rotherham, League Cup game this season where he hit the Post and smashed the bar).
Its almost like he's doubting himself. I was willing him to take the opportunity he got away at Sheffield Utd as he'd waited so long....he was really disappointing and everything he done was safe.
He'll have to go to Preston and prove that he's too good for the Championship. If he does that, the slate will be wiped clean again in thr summer and he'll get another chance to impress.

The gulf between U23 football and Premier League is so enormous, I can’t see how anyone would get the experience without going on loan to the Championship.
