I'd rather his poor games be because he's receiving the balls in the right area and fully involved but it doesn't come off than a lot of alternative bad games.
The people saying his decision making is bad are either a. overblowing it or b. need to basically be posting 100% of the time about how bad our decision making in the final third is because the entire team is complete crap in that area.

I don't just mean today. We're on the whole absolutely awful at making decisions and Gordon for me is far, far from the worst. I don't even think he was bad today. Taking players on from wide areas isn't a bad decision when the alternatives are smash a cross that leads to nothing 97% of the time or pass it back and reset. His end product needs to get better I'm not really questioning that but today it seemed like it shifted in tone. I mean he's playing with Rondon and Andros Townsend FFS. Townsend was abysmal.

No he's been usually very level headed and composed beyond his years this season. I think today perhaps he saw an opportunity to make an individual mark on the game, and with his pace and skill I can understand the attraction to trying this, it just didn't pay off. I like the lad but it didn't pay off.
The less about Townsend the better tbh, although no grudges held against him he was a free who got us some points early in the season and gives his all, he's just turned really bad which is a common theme in his career with new clubs.

Bad decision making and too selfish last night, but still was influential on the ball as he drew players towards him. He does need to learn when to release the ball, as he'll be a lot better for it. Hopefully Frank can get him to make better decisions on the field. A work in progress but nice to see his progression this season.

He tried to force things to make something happen. Some shots when passes may have been a better option. But he tried shooting when no one else did in the first half.
Boreham put 11 behind the ball, sat back and packed the penalty area. It needed someone to take players on, go past them and take shots. Gordon did that.

I don't get this shout from people tonight
They had every single man behind the ball, it was so compact and congested and tbf they were organised and the keeper made some good saves.
Gordon was running at them, hitting shots which at times was the only option because they had that many in the box
He was our only spark out there tonight after Patterson went off, he also looked likely

I thought he was decent but his decision making and final pass needs improving. He often performs well but does not rake in assists, this shows he has to put in more work on his final delivery. I think those will come as he keep working at it. He seems like he has the right attitude.
Love his directness, but should have passed on quite a few occasions tonight.
