I get that but there's not really much for him to provide for. Outside of Richarlison and Gray who else was going to score a goal for us today bar a set piece?
Yeah that’s certainly fair, but there aren’t many times you think ‘he’s put that on a plate, not his fault nobody scored from it’. He’s good, don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying he’s useless, but he is a key attacking player for a team which isn’t scoring or creating a lot, and he has to take his share of responsibility for that. A couple of decent crosses today but we need a bit more than that really. He’s far from the biggest culprit but just trying to be honest.

He lost the ball a lot, his set piece play is not very good. However, he tried more than the others, so that says something about how the lad feels about the club.

He put at least two on a plate today

I think he's a good Premier League player - probably similar to Osman but obviously different attributes.

We're currently in the Evertonian phase of hyping him up to levels he likely won't ever reach. Very soon we will go full circle and call him useless.
We're very reliant on him and that's not on him or even the manager. It's other useless players looking to pass the buck to a 21-yr-old.

But he has zero end product that actually results in goals.

Our best player yet again. Slate him all you want but he was more effective than Gray, Richarlison, Townsend and Alli today.
Yes he was. But we hardly create anything.

Gordon has talent, works hard, has skill and pace and bite etc. But he has zero end product. He is statistically one of the least creative players in his position in the league. It's like he does exactly what the defenders expect. It looks great and is almost always the right thing to do but sometimes you have to have more and he just doesn't have it enough.

The amount of times he gets into good positions, does everything right to set up a chance, and then a cut-back gets cut out. There comes a point where you realise that the defenders know they can't stop him in his tracks so they'll just cut out the ball because it's predictable what pass he'll try.

Oh he's still got a lot to work on, of course. But he still put two great balls in today that better stringers would have loved. That's two more chances created than anyone else on the pitch.

I think he would look more of a threat in a better team. As I said earlier, outside of him, Gray and Richarlison we had nothing on the pitch today to threaten Wolves. Essentially playing 5 at the back with 2 in defensive midfield.

I agree

But it's no surprise that when our main creative outlets aren't actually 'creative' at all when it comes to good chances, that we struggle to create a lot.

I’m not sure this is entirely on him though to be fair. If this team wasn’t so diabolical in general, I’d toss more blame Gordon’s way. He is as you say not doing enough to win games. BUT- this is certainly more of a team problem then a Gordon problem. Curious to see if he steps up when (or if) we ever acquire the right players/mentality/coach/etc.
