I'll probably be in the minority here, but I'm just going to say it anyway.
Gordon's pros are that will give 100% every game no matter what. We'd probably be in a worse off position without him. His work rate in his own half is second to none, and he gets us going direct really fast. His passing generally speaking is good too, and he can win fouls.
Godron's cons are that he has no final ball. He'll kick it into the opponents legs, or fall over or when he should try to get past someone try to win a free kick, or crosses over them. I think he's actually wasteful. DCL/Richarlison barely scored because Gray, Gordon and Iwobi barely provide any service. Since the Leeds game, we just don't look like we're creating any chances.
Now I'm aware he's young and ahead of other kids playing, but I do think Lampard should have been more selective rather than playing every week, perhaps Gordon should have played in half the games and maybe come off the bench the other half.
While we're talking about Gray and Iwobi, Gray is basically a second Gordon and also doesn't create anything, but will run around and do defensive work. Iwobi is also similar, but perhaps has a little bit more creativity and can play a thru ball at times. We had Townsend who we should have used, and Deli is far more effective and comfortable on the ball. Deli put the ball on a platter for Iwobi and if he went a little earlier, we would have equalised.
