or do you cash in for a few quid and gamble on getting a striker who might or might not get a few goals but is most likely just taking a position until DCL gets back?
Its also a big big gamble that he doesnt just immediately get injured again...we really need two strikers in to make it less of a huge issue if one flops.

Laughing me bollocks off at the notion of £50M and people justifying Gordon;s sale with it.

Let's be clear: this club will NOT get £50M off Chelsea. Nowhere near it. It'll be £30M top whack plus Gilmour.

An utter mugging.

Maybe Frank's doing his old club a favour?
So which is it? Is the club a disgrace for selling him at all or selling him for “£30m” like you’re claiming? Are all the journalists simultaneously lying about the bid that we’ve already rejected at over £40m or do you think Lampard is just gonna wake up tomorrow morning, take total control of transfers like your friend did last season and ring up Todd Boehly and give him £10m off of his latest offer?

Is that really what you think is going on here. If so why does anyone listen to these journalists with their connections being paid thousands of pounds every year when they could see it on here in all it’s wisdom for free?

Bit over the top here
Nope. It's on the money.

Bottom line for me: if FL gets shut of Gordon he better win a lot of matches this season because it wont be forgotten if he cant shift us toward midtable.

He 's creating a rod for his own back here. False economy doesn't begin to describe it.

His choice.

There's a choice that has to be made here: do you keep hold of a player who is more than just cash and inspires the academy players and connects with the fanbase, or do you cash in for a few quid and gamble on getting a striker who might or might not get a few goals but is most likely just taking a position until DCL gets back?

There's more to this potential sale than a cash transaction. Much more.

If Lampard decides to sell he's severed a lot of links to fans who would back him in a crisis. That's not dramatic, that is a fact.
Would it not be 'inspiring' to the academy players to know that if you can break into the first team and do well here, the club will not stand in your way if you want to go to a proper trophy-winning, UCL level club if you want to leave?

What if Anthony has said he wants to go?

Wake up mate. If you're being told it's £50M it's for a reason: to get you in acceptance mode.

You're being played.

Well we'll see won't we Dave as I'm sure if he's going it'll be in the next 2-3 days. Until then, it's not worth being so dramatic is it.
I'm not being dramatic. I'm saying one thing: if he sells Gordon his goodwill with me is gone. I think that goes for a few too. Nothing dramatic in that. Just a fact. And when / if he loses games he'll have a lot less people willing to hand him support.

The end.

People saying if he's crap why are Chelsea forking out 50 million bazookas on him:
Werner 60 mil
Lukaku 100 mil
Cinderella 60 mil
Pulisic 60 mil
Havertz 70 mil
Kepa 70 mil

Whilst selling arguably the best attacker in the league and the best midfielder on earth on the cheap.

Maybe Chelsea just aren't the best at evaluating talent...
Salah and KDB were not the best attacker and midfielder in the world at the time though, or ever looked like they would be. Bit of a false argument for me; they may never have become the players they were without leaving Chelsea to play regularly elsewhere. Plus, as great as hindsight is, at the time I'm pretty sure they still made a profit on those sales didn't they, along with Lukaku too (before buying him back of course).
