I suspect that he's Moshiri's get out of jail free card - his sale whether it is this season or next - will significantly improve our P&L figures .

Perhaps he's the back up plan to selling DCL.

Whichever one performs the best and commands the highest fee next summer will be gone.

To be honest I'm fine with that model.

Yes in an ideal world we would generate enough money to keep our best young players and invest in the team but , unfortunately , we just aren't in that position.

So, I think we will see more signings of good young players like Onana and a profitable sale after a couple of seasons and rinse and repeat until we are no longer making substantial losses.

If Newcastle are sniffing it could well happen. I think we are hoping/waiting for Newcastle to panic a bit, and make a huge offer. That could also come in January too.

I agree.

I genuinely wouldn't be surprised to see him go in the next couple of weeks , particularly if the fee was in excess of £35/40m and allowed us to reinvest in a couple of promising young strikers.

Sad as I would be to see us lose very good local talent it is actually logical if we move to a 532 ( Thelwell's prefered formation ) because it is hard to see how Gordon fits into that .

I could envisage a midfield 3 of Gana , Onana and one of Iwobi , Doucoure and McNeil.

You would need 2 mobile strikers . Ideally one would be Alli playing between the lines but his loss of form over such a prolonged period gives me no hope of this happening. Gordon could play this free role but his lack of goals and final ball would worry me greatly .

Yes , to be honest , if there was a very good offer for him I'd take it.

I think Gordon would fit very well as that 2nd striker. But honestly, if they get to Madisson figures, with a nice sell on, it would be hard to turn down.

Unless his output improves his valuation is only going down imho.
Another season like last season and he won’t be generating £40m of interest (if that figure has any substance anyway).

Don't know why he isn't considered for RB. I get this season it's probably out of the question given balance of squad and w Seamus still in the mix.
But with Seamus gone another RB will be needed.
Gordon has all the attributes to be a top quality rb
And may turn a 'profit' in value by moving him there.
I'd give him some time there in a cup match, whichever way.
Better than seeing him leave.

If we got offered anywhere near £40 millions we would be fools not to sell when you consider it would be all profit on the books.

Hugely over rated is our Gordon.
I agree but only in the sense that he is really green right now. He has all the potential in the world but potential doesn’t always amount to anything. We’d have to have someone lined up too.

The question is though mate, is he worth more than MGW who has 1 goal in 45 PL games and is older than Gordon.
It really isn't. Each player has his own value dictated by past performances and current form. To say Gordon is worth more than MGW or vice versa is pure speculation as ultimately it comes down to which club sees which player fitting into their system and delivering the goods. Put either player into a decent team with a good system and they'll be worth far more.

Don't think lampard would contemplate selling him has to much potential and works very hard

Needs a guiding hand to become an all star though

Valuing anything is obviously difficult mate, especially footballers. It's hard to dictate any intrinsic value beyond what others go for in the market.

In a like for like comparison with MGW he stacks up similarly but also better. So it's a worthwhile question. It's also not a question that his top flight record is better, more a point or order. Just as the point hes a year younger. What is speculation is that he will go in to do better things. We can never know that.

For me, I would sell for a silly offer, which is how I view all of our squad (or the ones we want to keep). I hope Newcastle make one.
