Going to buy my son a "Gordon 10" shirt from the official shop today so I can kick off to the newspapers when he gets sold.

I noted a hint of sarcasm from @MACCA75 I Think????????????Why
How could we improve the side with 30m in 2022 when Morgan Gibbs White costs 42m
I don't know why you're only using the Prem, though? So using playing in the prem as the measure both not really any better than Gordon. That is why you are seeing huge bids coming in and not being taken seriously.
We never got a replacement. We should of had someone the moment he stepped out the door. Kevin failing us and lampard selling our talent to ChelseaHe is not the replacement for him, if he was he would be playing in that role. Demari Gray is playing there.

It's just a slogan that means nothing, the same as any other football club who has one.I'd like to put that claim to the test. I appreciate that Kenwright during his tenure has failed to uphold it, but you have to set your own bar high. I wonder what a supporters poll would say? Remove NSNO from the club's livery, or keep it for sentimental reasons?
100% this. It's just a slogan that means nothing, the same as any other football club who has one.
In an ideal world it would mean something but it doesn't, it is just a branding tool. It has not been upheld during our whole existence, if it was we would have won the league every season! I like it as a brand don't get me wrong, but it is mad to use it as some kind of standard to attain as we never have done.
Another thing is we only hear about bids going in when they make the news, but they would of known for weeks about Chelsea’s interest and would of had the necessary time to line up targets and prices etc at least that would be what a competent club would do anyway. We should already have a shortlist sorted and ready to go, we’ve had 8 weeks to look for a Richarlison replacement. If we’re now just starting to look for attackers then sack Thelwell and every single member of the recruitment team immediately.
With the greatest respect, it seems to me that you just do not understand the situation, thus your confusion at what is happening. Let us leave it at that.I don't know why you're only using the Prem, though?
United didn't buy Sancho because of what he'd done in the Prem? Liverpool didn't buy Salah because of it, or City De Bruyne?
Do you think, had Gordon broke into the Dortmund team when Sancho did (and my apologies, he's 11 months younger than Sancho), he'd have gone on to score as many goals as Sancho? He might have scored a lot more than he would in the PL at the same age but not sure he'd have been as effective.
I'm not saying he's not a talent, but I'm not sure he'll ever be 'worth' £60m based on his quality. That might change but I think we're getting a very good deal.
Yes - the thing is history isn’t always a guide to the futureYeah that's fine, £60m is paying for potential. But it'd make Gordon the 9th most expensive player aged 21 or under in history, and the 2nd most expensive player, behind Laporte, not to have being capped by his country at the time (and that was only because for some strange reason Deschamps never rated Laporte).
