If you think that represents some form of success fair enough but we are worlds apart in this.
Top 4 represents a form of success today though, certainly for players, as it means Champions League football. Virtually any top player would put the chance to play vs Barcelona, Real and Bayern ahead of a Carabao Cup winners medal (if they want a good career that is). Rangers have close to zero chance of winning the Champions League but they'll be fighting hard as anything to win tonight's game vs PSV to avoid going into the Europa League (something they might actually win- and nearly did last year).

Just a note on all the no end product stuff.

Giggs at 19 at united his breakout season - 38 games, 4 goals.
Gerrards first season as a starter at 20, 29 games 1 goal.
Ronaldos first season at united at 19 - 29 games 4 goals, second season at same age Gordon was 33 games and 5 goals.
Lampards first season at Chelsea at 22 37 games 5 goals
Thats 4 examples, you really think he is going too be as good as 4 of the best players to ever play in the PL? How many examples can you think of that have flopped

Is he that much better than Demarai Gray? If both were one on one I’d probably back Gray. Gordon works a bit harder off the ball. He could improve I suppose, but both to me are mid table premier league wide forwards. They’ll get you a handful of goals and assists each season, but not in the top category.

I don't thing AG could have delivered that free kick against Palace, or finished like that against Forest

So many people on Twitter making fun of Chelsea for bidding 60m however to
think that we are the even dumber club to reject it is absurd.

You didn't say success. You said competing and that is competing. Only 3 teams max can win the top trophies in this country.
I'd say the semi-finals is 'competing' too. Had a few of them in past 15 years (nowhere near enough, of course). So, we definitely 'competed' for trophies in 2016- 20 minutes away from the final in the League Cup, possibly a missed pen away from making the FA final that year too.

If we need to sell him to improve the team and give it more balance so be it, get best price and throw Broja in as part of deal, loan to buy only. Sadly this is where we are selling the family silver again, twice in one year now, a new record and until the management, recruitment team change, this is where we are going to stay and I do include Kenwright in this, this has been an Everton policy since he was the owner and is now carrying on with him being the chairman and an integral part of the recruitment team, God let it end.

I think (hope) we have rejected the structure of the deal rather than the total fee.

If Chelsea pay anywhere near the 60m up front, it is a worrying sign for them that their owner hasn't got a clue.
