Good thing is his value will be higher then.

I said before no way should we sell him yet and the bidding starts at 75 mill in Jan and United or City might join the race.

If we get Broja, Gallagher and a chunk of cash then maybe.
I think the only way he goes in January is if he does enough with us to make the England World Cup squad. He’d then need to play a blinder from the bench in a couple of games, leading to him breaking into the starting line-up.

If he does that - and becomes the next Rooney or Grealish in the eyes of the media - then I think he gets sold for a princely sum.

But I think the odds of that are fairly slim. He either goes this window, next summer, or not for a bit yet. We’d want too much for him to go after an average half season otherwise.

I wouldn't want to swap him anyway. We've got the best player to come out of Merseyside since Rooney and we should do all we can to keep him. We should have moved on now from those days where Rooney was so quickly sold.
Conor Gallagher is a better player than Gordon at this moment in time, though. We cannot afford to be sentimental in our current plight and while Gordon may well end up the better player of the two, any prospective deal that includes Broja and cash must be accepted IMO.

I'm a huge fan of Gallagher, but nope he isn't and Gordon has a way higher ceiling too. He's also very specific in where he has to play otherwise he's a liability - Gordon's shown he has more versatility already.

Doesn’t look like he’s going now which is fine.

Let’s see how he does with Maupay and hopefully Gana, 2 solid additions compared to what we’ve had recently for him to work with. DCL back in training this week too so maybe some light at the very distant end of the tunnel.

Parallels to Zaha here - Palace should have sold him when the top offers came in
TBF though Palace have had more than their money's worth out of actually keeping Zaha, he's been their main talisman for 6/7 seasons and probably singlehandedly kept them in the top flight and they could still get a good whack for him right now should they choose to sell
Good on them for not selling him it's paid off for them IMO.

Frank Lampard has warned that Chelsea target Anthony Gordon would “see a different side to me” if the winger refused to play for Everton.

Wesley Fofana has been absent from Leicester’s squad amid interest from Chelsea and Wolves’ Willy Boly refused to play against Newcastle at the weekend in a bid to force through a departure, but Lampard insisted that was not Gordon’s style.

The Everton boss said: “Anthony wouldn’t, shouldn’t, couldn’t do that with me. If he did try and sit out a game he’d see a different side to me. No doubt about that and I think he knows that.

“I’m not playing the hard one, it’s just that it would be so alien from what I’d expect from him. I just know that’s not him.

“At the same time he’s not a robot and all this attention is difficult. I understand that, I was that ambitious young player.

“That’s the beauty of Anthony. Hard-working. He wants to be better. He wants to do what he did (on Saturday), which is score goals, run for this team, and that’s why he’s a delight to work with. So there was never any idea that Anthony would act that way.”

Lampard remains hopeful of retaining one of his prized assets, who is expected to start in Tuesday night’s Premier League game at Leeds.

“He’s in the squad Tuesday for sure,” Lampard said. “His character’s great. He’s in the squad.

“He’s a huge player for us. We’re getting towards the end of the window now and Anthony’s a huge player for us and will be this season.”

Chuckling at the general opinion in this thread changing drastically based on one goal against forest.

Dear lord you’d think we had an absolute superstar on our hands reading delusional posts like this.

Only one bid of £40m has actually been made and yet somehow all the best clubs will be offering double that in January for a guy seemingly no one considers to be worth that much other than the chap who paid £60m for cucarella.
