Joke of a club if he doesn't get sold.
With some of the crazy prices right now, I don’t blame the club in the slightest for turning down 45m. He’s a good prospect and there’s an English tax. For all we know it might have been structured like the Gibbs-White deal. Calculus changes if a massive offer comes in.

Can honestly say we won't get anything near that price or have club's being interested at it either.

Don't think we'll get anymore signings in either unless it's a loan.

I think your analysis has to also take into account the risk of relegation that is hanging over this team this season. Getting 60 million only makes you better if you can immediately use it to replace Gordon and upgrade more. The names I am seeing dont appear to be no doubt scorers, which is the severe need. Using it to buy 3 more McNeil equivalent talents does nothing to make the team better overall.

Not if we didnt actually get a good bid

Lampard said the 60m offer never happened

Even £50mill (£45mill with add ons) is super business.

I just think we'd get some higher tier players in rather than looking down the list cos we're skint or have daft structure deals.

I know you've got no faith we'd spend it well but I don't think we'll get that kinda of money for Gordon either (or even Gordon being that type of player)

But I dont think we got a good offer for the current market anyway

Can't help but feel he's getting sold on deadline day
He could very well be hung out to dry by the club who could make him out to be the villain who forced his way out and the club was powerless to keep him despite him having two years left on his contract. That may end up being the excuse for banking £60m at the death on Thursday and having it magically turn into £20m come January when we're absolutely desperate for new players when we're 20th in the division.

Fool me once...

This is the fear now, though. They'll take the money and bank it. That would, surely, spell their end. Gordon won't be vilified - people can see he is still very much putting it all on the line for Everton. I am a Gordon skeptic, but that was a wonderful goal on Saturday. It's in everyone's interests that Lampard turns around this weekend with no excuses. He must be given what he needs - within reason. Then he can get on and do his job. Anything else is a hostage to fortune and allows people to play pass the parcel in the inevitable blame game that will ensue.

That bids not gone in though mate.

If Gordon improves his numbers, we will likely get a big bid in January/next summer. Prices are going up.

I think we’re in a win win situation. If he goes we make good money and reinvest in a couple of players. If he stays I think his outputs will improve as he settles into the side. His finishing is getting better.
