Anthony Gordon

Good player, with potential to be very good. Really starting to show more consistency now.

Doesn't mean the decision to sell by us was wrong though. £45m was a lot of money for potential and the player wanted to leave. His performances had not been as good as he was capable of in the weeks before he left. In fact his form went downhill from the point he didn't get the move to Chelsea last summer.
Nail on head.

He was excellent yesterday but no regrets at all in selling him. He wasn't producing anything near a 45m player should do so we got a good deal and he got a good deal.

Let's be honest, he looked decent because of the opposition he was playing against. That's his level, Championship. He won't look anywhere near as good against better opposition because they won't give him the freedom he had yesterday. He still fell over too much and was looking for free kicks. That said, he should have won a penalty but mysteriously both the Ref and VAR chose to ignore the blatant trip.

He's started the season well though? He may 'fall over' but it wins his team free kicks, grealish does the same.

Chelsea would have been disastrous for him too. He'll go well at the Toons. Still funny how he doesn't get penalties/ free kicks because he's cried wolf too many times falling over when someone breathes on him. Mind you, he got away wit ha blatant hand ball in assisting their first goal on Sunday.

Literally got a pen for diving against Brentford a week ago

Another great game today for him, him and Bruno our most in form players. It's a shame he's suspended against West Ham because we've had a nightmare with injuries the past couple of weeks.
