The cognitive dissonance with this lad amongst Evertonians is baffling.Still very overrated even if he scores against us. Lots of bang average players have decent spells, he is one of them.
To be honest mate, he wasn’t pulling up trees here, even though he was in a very poor team. We all saw he had potential and now that’s happening playing with better players. The cognitive dissonance with this lad amongst Evertonians is baffling.
Anyone could see he was a talented young player who just needed guidance and good coaching and that's what he's getting now.
We should have sold him a lot more than 40m in all honesty. I remember some on here saying we should sell for peanuts.

He wasn't bang average hence why another club paid such a big fee for him.No cognitive dissonance whatsoever. I said he was bang average when he played for us and seen nothing to suggest he’s not still bang average. A few decent games for PEDS FC doesn’t mean much, so many players have had good little spells and been hailed as great talents.
Just watch him with a football at his feet, nothing to write home about whatsoever hence why everyone was stoked to get £40m for him. He’s a typical English workhorse winger with good pace.
Barkley was multiple levels ahead of Gordon in terms of natural talent and performances at the same age, look how he turned out.
People hype players far too early, give him 2 seasons and let’s see where he is, on the Newcastle subs bench is my guess.

You don't have to like him to admit he's a good player. Carry on pretending though to make yourself feel better.
What I'm saying is, a lot of Everton fans didn't recognize his potential. And relatively speaking, not pulling up trees at his age in a struggling team and a chaotic club was fine. The expectations placed on him were incredibly disproportionate. He was also not handled well by the club either btw.To be honest mate, he wasn’t pulling up trees here, even though he was in a very poor team. Misrepresenting my argument as "Gordon is something special" is easier to argue against then my actual point which is Gordon is a good player who is excelling in the right conditions and it was obvious after his first season for us that he had good potential if nurtured correctly. He was bang average and clubs sign bang average players all the time.. you should know, we are one of the best at it.
I don’t dislike him as a person either, he’s fine and have no problem with him leaving Everton for simple reason that he’s nothing special whatsoever.
Totally agree on the fitness point but that's on our previous coaching staff and culture at the club. He's definitely improved as a footballer this season, but playing with slightly better players with a better system, ala Lampard has definitely helped. And what is it with some Everton players who come through our system, they inevitably play with more strength and greater fitness. Gordon got to 60 minutes and looked like he needed an iron lung. Barkley looked much fitter and worked harder at Chelsea, even with the new underlying hamstring issue he had.

You were challenging my response in a discussion. Not talking to yourself.I didn’t say you said he was something special, I said I don’t care about him leaving because he’s nothing special.
