Well as some people keep saying, they saw Kone play for Wigan a few times last year and formed an opinion based on that. Similarly with Alcaraz, and that he was highly rated by Wigan fans and the back room staff (If I recall correctly).

Our defence was always going to look a bit weaker with Jagielka. He is easily in the top 5 CBs this season and has been at the heart of our defence for years. Alcaraz steps in against a very good Southampton side and doesn't look out of place. Some people even said we didn't miss Jagielka (which I disagree with, because we'd always miss him).

I still think Kone will turn out to be a useful player. Besides the Stevenage game, in his substitute appearances I saw enough to suggest that he'll be at least useful. I'm sticking by that. I'd much rather have him upfront than Jelavic, anyway. At least he can run.

Only natural given that was their first game plus Southampton wouldn't be in their league position if they were mugs.
 
Very impressed yesterday.

I thought he added a new dimension to our play with his ability on the ball and he also seemed to win every header.

Yes, very impressed.

The same people saying don't judge Kone are already judging Alcaraz.

I've pointed out this hypocrisy.

I'm quite happy to judge on what I've seen

Alcaraz looks decent

Kone looks crap

Is that broken down and simplified enough for you?

So you'll be vaulting me on saying Alcaraz is decent?

Was never arsed either way about Oviedo. Seemed a decent squad signing and so he's proved.

Always said Coleman would make a top right back and was advocating playing him ahead of Hibbert long before he was.

Said right away that Barry would be a great short term signing.

Said McCarthy was good but thought we were over paying on him. Been proved wrong on the price so far.



Only time I've been majorly wrong in the vaults is Gibson, although his injury record leaves a lot to be desired.

How have you fared?
