Appeal for witnesses...

Jesus Christ, I'm not assuming anything - that's exactly my point and I don't understand why someone as bright as you can't grasp it.

There's not enough information to assume anything about this.

That's my point. Take it or leave it.

Well you were inferring that an incident in a public place, is akin to DV violence between partners. The two things are very different.

Look I havent said it's a lie. I dont know, and would like it to be clarified. But I can imagine people are going to see that the police have put out a statement saying there was no incident, and conclude on balance of probablities, its unlikely something happened. That's got nothing to do with her job.

100%

If this did occur and nobody reported the incident to police you would assume right now this person is still attending matches and supporters are also themselves at risk of being physically assaulted by this person.

Therefore if it happened and the person involved or any witnesses haven’t reported it, then they are irresponsibly endangering fans and other members of the public who may come into contact with the individual.

No. Example.

If one fan attacked another, it would be reported by the club - they wouldn't wait for the fan to file a report.

Though I would like to see the police wading into the crowd to ask fans if the below hit them, and if they'll press charges before they make a report;

Just burst out laughing at the first part of that tweet, I understand the point of it but the wording just tickled me.

That is correct. I have seen lots of people ejected over the years, and never once seen them asking anyone if they wanted charges pressed.

Fair enough, I disagree they would mate but each to their own. Im often wrong!

If it happened, and wasn't reported it would have been for the good of the club. I don't think many women would hesitate to report being put in a headlock by an unknown male. It's not as if there is any conceivable shame in her part in being accosted by a lunatic.

What is surprising therefore is that it was then leaked to the press. As others have opined, perhaps this wasn't DBD but someone else against her wishes.

Surprised you aren't taking the hardline Dave.

Someone from the club has leaked to media that supporters are assaulting board members with no substantiated proof. That's a very serious allegation against the support and one none of us should take lightly.

Not something I'd expect to see you advocate sweeping under the rug.

If it happened, I want the individual named, arrested, charged and punished.

If it didn't then I want the same for whoever is perpetuating these allegations.
I dont sweep it under the rug. There's no way of knowing for sure what happened either way. Prentice has ballsed this right up.

My mind is 100% focussed on us surviving relegation. This war is a luxury we cant afford.

If we're safe then we have to go after the board and owner and pressure them to GTF out of Everton.

I see no strategy to the weekend's protests though. I dont support poor strategists. Last weekend was all about a handful of people seeking to promote themselves and who encouraged chaos at this club (despite all their pleas for everyone to be peaceful). They've indulged themselves, and it's coming at the expense of our survival chances...and I dont like that one bit.

Protests on Saturday should have been all about getting Lampard out and players in. IMO.

What reason would the police have to lie? I can give you a reason as to why the club would lie.

I dont know mate. I'm trying to be as objective as possible, after that Charlie Sheen guy accused me of being a disgrace, and unbalanced and whatever. I genuinely think I'm trying to give the board the benefit of the doubt.

I can see no reason why the police would lie, but maybe one exists. I appreciate I can come across in an arrogant manner, but I am aware of how little I know! I'm sure someone brighter than me could find a reason.

In the Guardian football podcast released today there was a pretty fair conversation I felt about the situation - including the behaviour of fans and the board not being able to attend the game for security reasons.
Both Troy Townsend and Nooruddean Choudry refreshingly described the manner in which the news was leaked as being very suspicious and "throwing oil on the fire", with Choudry also sticking up for the protestors, highlighting how the DBB story and the Mina/Gordon incidents are all used in a way to dismiss the entirely reasonable demands from fans in general.
Obviously would have been nice to hear more criticism about the board and Moshiri, but I guess that's not for them to do - it is what it is - but they spoke about the fans in a fairer way than most others I've seen since.
