Worse than Iwobi for 27 mil?
Worse than Gomes for 22 mil?
worse than klaasen for 24 mil?
Walcott for 20 mil?
Sigurdsson for 40 mil?
Tosun for 20 mil?
Delph for 8 mil?
bolasie for 26 mil?
Scheiderlin fod 20 mil?
We definitely had a thing for purchasing in January when the price was high and the stock was low, but again that's because of the situations we were in.

These were players signed to improve the starting eleven. Before Covid when all clubs had money and prices were a lot higher than they are today. At a time where Everton could spend money on new players. Stop comparing apples and oranges.

There is a reason why all the players you list were signed before the pandemic. Inflation was crazy and it made sense to as much money as possible on players. Some players became expensive (more so due to the pandemic) while the club made money on a Lookman, a Vlasic, an Onyekuru and will eventually do on Kean.

The times were you could buy a Gueye for £7 million and sell him on as 30 year old for £35 million is over. We sold Gueye for more than Sadio Mane was sold for this summer. Crazy.

Never understood the Dennis hype.

He was poor in Belgium, did absolutely nothing in Bundesliga and was a £3M player 12 months ago. He had two or three good months early last season, but has been poor since New Year.

As a Fantasy Premier League player I choose to blame the game for the Dennis hype. He was an unknown, priced cheap and became a must have for hundreds of thousands FPL players. With that comes millions of mentions in social media, numerous news articles and becoming a topic in most football related podcasts. Clickbait. And you dont have to play FPL to be a victim of the hype.

Not that different with Broja. He started the season better than he finished it. But he did at the back of a decent season in the Netherlands. And he is a full international that did well for Albania. Remember the Hungary team that beat England twice last month? Broja scored the winner against Hungary twice last season in the World cup qualifiers.

When it comes to talent and potential it can not be close. Broja is way more exciting than Dennis.

Dennis for £20 million has potential to be the clubs worst business in the Moshiri era.
It's never worse than Sig for 45m or Gbamin.

Players improve at different rates his record in Belgium is one in three and he probably wasn't an out an out striker all of the time. Ten goals and six assists in the EPL is good from a player who often played on the wing. He can be got for 18m. I like Broja too but he feels like more of a project and I am not sure we have the dosh to be paying 30m for one player

Sorry but Dennis won’t? Tell me who in our attack is better? And I’m pretty sure tosun didn’t improve our starting 11, neither did schneiderlin or Delph of klaasen.

What I do not understand is how you can expect that a 25 year old that has looked like a footballer for three months of his life are expected to be at his very best all the time if he comes to Everton. When most players plays a lot worse for Everton than what they did for their previous club.

I do agree that Dennis was impressive for a period last season, but he did not finish strong. Danny Welbeck have been a lot better than Dennis in 2022. But we should not spend big money on Welbeck. Or?

Tosun was a good player. He did great in Turkey. He had fantastic matches in Champions League. Signed by Allardyce and under Allardyce Tosun did better than Dennis have done for Watford. But he was a terrible fit for Silva and modern football with high pressing. Without the ACL injury he would have been sold for good money to Palace.

Schneiderlin was Evertons best player his first 6 months in the club. If I remember correctly, Everton took one point more per match that season when Schneiderlin played.

Delph might have been brought in as a squad player, but there can be no doubt that a fit and injury free Delph would have improved Everton massively the last three seasons.

Klaassen was a good player. Still is. Signed from Ajax after he captained the team to a Europa League final. Good for Ajaz and Netherlands before he came to Everton. Did OK in Germany after he left Everton. Back in Ajax now. Back on the national team (while van de Beek is miles away from being capped). Should never have signed for Everton, but he is obviously a very talented footballer. Much better than Dennis ever will be.

Talking about previous Everton players. Dennis gives me Niasse vibes. Same kind of career.

Davy Klassen was a terrible fit for the PL

Seems Broja didn’t leave with the main Chelsea squad who fl to the US today.

Nor as it happens did RLC or Kante.

Broja is joining up next week whereas the other two can’t because of their COVID vacination status
