Confirmed Signing Armando Broja

Maybe an element of Quid Pro Quo here, we scratch their back by taking him off their books even with the term on the side lines….. maybe we get the option to buy rather than an obligation? Either way, I actually quite like him, would be great to see him fully fit banging in some goals, even better him feeding DCL.

The other thing he enables is the ability to to try and shift DCL in January, if we can get anything for him and he leaves - we still have three forwards.

Could work for us this financially.

As you said earlier: I'd have been fuming last night if Ipswich had secured him.

There's a lot of untapped value in this lad. Get him fit and keep him fit and let's see what he can do.

He's aggressive, strong and can shift with the ball at his feet. You dont want to defend against that.

He can create something out of nothing as well and he can do it on the counter - cant remember the last player we had who could do that.

Brings legs, ability to carry the ball and directness to an area of the pitch where we have had 0.

I watched him on video scoring in the box with the outside of the boot.

A player who can do that has a lot of composure.

Like i say he reminds me of Arnautovic he has very good technical ability, very happy with ball at feet and an ability to carry and beat a man and create an angle to get a shot off - like Arnautovic - if you look at his play he comes in off the right a lot like him as well.

I think keeping him away from them niggly injuries is key...your also looking for him to bag early.

Before all the Body language Nazis jump on me, he looks like a confidence player...to coin a phrase.

Someone said earlier (may have been you) that he's deceptively quick. I agree.

I can see him getting people out of their seats when he plays.

Hmmmmm reeks of a panic buy. Injured, gets injured a fair bit and the last time he done anything of any use was about 2-3 years ago for Southampton.

When he played at Goodison last season, Branthwaite bullied his very soul out of him and he didn't fancy it at all.
It’s a weird one, the timing and the way we went about it screams panic, but at the same time this is a lad we’ve been targeting (rightly or wrongly) for years now, heavily linked every window and apparently top of the striker list (again, rightly or wrongly). So it’s not some rando we’ve picked up in desperation, he was our top target all along.

So I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt and say it’s more opportunism than panic- we’ve got him in the door for a look on very favourable terms.
