2024/25 Armando Broja

….a number of posters talking about ‘cancelling the loan’. Perhaps I’m missing some detail but I’m of a view that he’s been injured playing for Everton and we’re now contractually committed to paying his salary for the rest of the season. ‘Cancelling his loan’ isn’t an option.

Could be an expensive risk we took.

I'd imagine we could send him back to Chelsea to continue treatment and rehab, if it's such an injury it's unlikely to see him get back on the pitch before the season's done.

Are we sure that we're contracted to paying his salary for the remainder of of the season if terminating the loan? I don't know.

But I do know in the lower leagues, it's certainly not the case.

If it's a long term one he'll probably want to return to his parent club to complete his recovery and his rehab near home and family so you're probably wasting your internet animosity trying to hound him out of the club. All will sort itself out in the next week or so, relax.

He needs to have a period like Dom did where you manage his rehab considerably. Something that we shouldn't afford to a loan player unfortunately.

I figure Chelsea would have to agree to a loan cancellation.

If so, suspect we'll be paying his wages or part of it until the end of the season.
Is it a possibility that although we might have to keep him for rehab/paying wages purposes, if we don't register him in the January squad update, does that open up a domestic loan space? Or because we've physically loaned him, does registration not matter?

£30m they wanted too, try before you buy always a good idea for young injury prone players. Having said that it’s probably more luck than judgement as Kev loves him and would’ve probably paid it if we had a pot to pee in.

I agree but this loan contract definitely has some clauses because I’m sure it was reported we didn’t start paying His wages until he was fit and that they were in charge of his rehab so there might actually be some More movement Than usual .
