We essentially got him back to ours, slipped him a finger, but he bailed in a taxi as soon as he started sobering up.

I was annoyed at the time, but now it kind of makes sense, and I don't really blame him.
The manager he was signing for got sacked. The club was in a relegation scrap and he didn't know if the new boss would want him. Then along comes Champions League Spurs.
It didn't work out for him, but I understand why he did it.
We have a long history.Luís Antônio Corrêa da Costa,Fabrizio Ravanelli...Horrible little rodent
Says more about the sad state of the club that we've gone back with the begging bowl to a player that publicly humiliated us 6 months ago
I’m pretty sure we humiliated ourselves.Horrible little rodent

Nah, we done everything we needed to do. It was his agent who never handed the contracts over to the PL iirc.I’m pretty sure we humiliated ourselves.
We had him in the building, media done - but didn’t push to get the contract signed before all the faffing around. We ignored the most important part to take some pictures.
Then the decision was made to sack the manager on the very same day the player was due to sign, showing even more chaotic incompetence.
Genuinely, I don’t blame the lad for running at the time when his agent said Spurs were in for him.
Now though, there’s a semblance of stability with the manager and he’s guaranteed playing time.
Richy was playing and not scoring to be fair. If he was told he’d get a crack to oust a non-scoring player at a far better squad than ours and link up with Kane and Son over Maupay and Gray I can see why he made the choiceI don't - he wanted gametime/exposure and he opted to sign for a team on loan where he should have known he wouldn't get a kick.
I get we weren't an attractive proposition but for his situation - us vs Spurs on loan for a few months - it should have been a no brainer.
I think this is right. We needed the agent to submit paperwork (possibly the player's registration to the FA/PL IIRC), and then they went down to Spurs.Nah, we done everything we needed to do. It was his agent who never handed the contracts over to the PL iirc.
