Arouna Kone

Lol ^

PS: The average Evertonian in Liverpool needs to work an entire year to earn less than Arouna Kone earns in one week.

At the end of this season he'll have sponged over 4.5m in wages from Everton FC. The average Evertonian in Liverpool would need to work for 150 years to pay for this loser's wages over that period.

An absolute disgrace.

Worth looking back at what Martinez said when he signed him lol
"But probably the biggest strength that Arouna has is that calmness in front of goal, that composure to be a real reference for the team.
"As a player I would say he is a complete footballer at a really good age.
I suggest Bobby was being sarcastic...Catalonians are noted for it.

I always pull up that "complete striker" quote when I fancy a laugh.

However that isn't funny is this.

Arouna Kone has been bang average his entire career. He's never scored more than 15 goals in an entire season in his career. In fact, prior to joining Everton, Arouna Kone had scored a total of - wait for it - 29 goals in his previous six seasons; an average of 5 per season. AS A STRIKER!

This fella has played less than 700 minutes of football for Everton. I'm suggesting he's on around 30k a week, which works out at approximately 4.5k for each minute of football he has played for our team.

In this financial climate (not football), that's just sickening.

You act as if he intentionally deceived Everton into giving him a contract. It might not have been the best piece of business in the world, but he has earned his career as a professional footballer with several productive seasons, including one in the Premier League.

I feel it's a safe guarantee he'd have preferred being healthy and productive over the past two seasons than injured and, well, inept.

dat right butters, he is stealing a living, lets burn his house down lar.

played alright today so not sure why people are being so critical, he made mistakes but not as much as mccarthy or coleman.

That added to it being the first game of pre-season and also him being on Ramadan people need to lay off a bit.

Honestly think paying £6m for Kone was a sort of an apology gift to Wigan from Martinez for taking McCarthy off them.

We bought Kone before McCarthy didn't we?

Martinez dropped a real clanger there, and with Alcaraz as well. Two players who have never been better than average and haven't even been that at Everton.

Maybe it was a more of a "sorry what I'm about to do to you" gift then.... I can understand the Alcaraz one as a 4th choice centre back and on a free but Kone has turned out to be an awful buy... maybe he would have scored 5-10 goals for us if he didn't have a really bad first season with injuries but he was never worth £6m.
