Can't blame kone for the back 5 but I think in games when he looks tired Martinez needs to sub him earlier

He isn't contributing, he's out of form, and we are not winning. That's why he shouldn't be there, as I've said literally 30 times. Of course he isn't entirely to blame he is only one player, but this is a thread about one player. I'm either the only sane one here or the only crazy one it seems... thank me later

Kone is looking heavy legged and slow recently.

A number of times on Saturday he had the ball nicked off him.

A lot of games in a short space of time coming up, he needs benching to have a breather and the squad needs to be used.

Mirallas should be given his chance, IMO.

I'm arguing exactly what @orly just said.

Lukaku plays better as part of a front two. Kone is the best option in the club presently to play that support role alongside Lukaku. Modern defences, as we know more than most, have difficulty in adapting to two central attackers as it leaves the two central defenders in a one on one situation. For years with teams playing 4-5-1, being a central defender was relatively easy. One went tight to the sole attacker and the other dropped off as cover. You can't do that when you have two central attackers (classic case was Leicester's second goal where in the build up to the penalty Stones, good as he is, was left one on one with Vardy who just drifted behind him). Whilst Everton do not operate Lukaku and Kone in exactly the same way, Kone's presence gives Lukaku more space and stops central defenders from covering the other when he is in possession.

I'd prefer an alternative partner to Lukaku, but Kone is the best option in the club, and if his contribution is to make like easier for Lukaku then so be it.

So the insinuation is that Kone is primarily to blame for a team that is shipping 22 goals in 16 games.

You've got a sinister agenda here - all white defense, choose to criticise Kone.

It's really sad to see.

Wait, are you suggesting that i'm being racist? If you actually think that I don't rate Kone's performances due to the colour of his skin then you are way way off the mark mate. If you are alluding to that that does not sit well with me at all.

Let's drop the race discussion, it is not welcome on the site, either accusations and comments about players, and indeed about posters.

You have made one reference to Kone being "African" which might be interpreted as being un-necessary. Let's leave it there and discuss his merits in the team or not.

*edited - it was a mistake on my part, it was another poster who referenced "african". Apologies all round.

No suggestion at all. Just perhaps trying to understand your underlying sentiments in the face of all the evidence.

Can't believe - as an admin member - you'd put words in my mouth like that mate. Whilst your other mate is basically calling me racist which is extremely unwarranted and making me out to look like something i'm not. Just about done with this forum, keyboard warriors, very disappointing..
