Arouna Kone

It's not that mate, he is just a not very good footballer who had a run of decent performances with one stellar game from him in that 4-5 game run, 31yo who at his best was just decent, with a major injury losing him near enough two years of football in his late 20's-early 30's and played out of position - what can we honestly expect from him?

Like with Naismith, can't fault his commitment and has the rare moment in a game that he looks good, but his level is below most of the other players around him by a decent way

....I'm can only think he plays because the manager feels he brings the best out of Lukaku.

Kone has to be dropped based on form. He's killing us out there. Put Lennon on the left and Gerry on the right...or but Besic in and move Cleverly out wide to play those diagonal balls to Rom. Kone has to be dropped.

Or maybe now the transfer window is open actually go and buy a left sided player good enough rather than stockpiling right mids

If Pienaar actually comes back fit for more than two minutes that's sorted. No pace whatsoever but can still do a job out there. Very comfortable with Lennon playing out left.

Big IF though mate and not one i have any hope to actually see happen.

Also, think we have to look at Pienaar now and think would he suit the way we play at the best, which is fast paced countering really, something he was never good at.

Lennon honestly have never really seen play much there mate so can't give a honest opinion on that

Lennon gives you pace, graft and width whichever side he's on. Granted he's going to be cutting in more, but that might actually bring out the best in Baines...remember Pienaar at his best was a right footed LM. Creating overlapping runs on the left and keeping Coleman a bit more defensive with Gerry acting as the playmaker in the final third will help our DMs to only have to really cover one side on counters. Right now they have to cover the entire field, and it leaves gaps to drive a truck through.

Lennon played on the left once already this season (Arsenal maybe?) and looked really lost. I think any time he plays it has to be on the right.

Don't remember tbh...but it's hard for me to believe he couldn't adapt with the right tactics and instructions.

I didn't like that he was booed when subbed. You don't do that to your players.
But, I don't think he's good enough for the team.
