Distans main attribute was his pace though. Which covered up alot of what he had lost through age. I wouldnt expect us to get more then two seasons out of him.

Still have him think he would be good for that time and whats 10mill now.

I do wonder where he'll fit though really, as we have Jags and Mori, who you'd think are first choice, and then a host of talented young centre backs that should be pushing for action this year in Galloway, Holgate, Pennington and Browning. How many centre backs do we really need?

We need at least 3 experienced CH, if we want to mount any type of assault on Europe.
There is no doubt we have some talented kids coming through, but for me I am note sure they are ready yet.

We need that balance of experience and youth, at CH it weighs into youth when it needs to be experience

IMHO our biggest issues last year were lack of leadership and shipping goals.

He is a leader, and a strong defender.

So please everyone, dont lose your heads.

Pleased with that one. 2 decent seasons for ten mill money well spent. (In football money that is)

The ridiculous part of all if this, is that the 10ml fee appears to be the market value at this point in time

If he was 5ml I would say, a little steep but brings a wealth of experience with him....but this season it has gone from madness to complete lunacy

If this was last season I would be more concerned as most players we signed needed resale value, as that is how we operated

Thus season I think differently, my feel we have good financial clout and to get into Europe we may need to pay over the odds on players to get us there.

Just complete madness, but it is the way the game is going these days...
