Ashley Williams

His distribution today was gash but, the rest was good

It wasn't though was it?

We didn't lose the ball when he was on it unless it was a punt upfield, and one of those 'punts' led to our first chance.

Quick, direct play so Rom can get in behind - which is what Koeman wants and is what we were all calling for last year.

His distribution suits our needs perfectly. We aren't playing under Martinez anymore.

Way I see it, for now (barring another CB coming in), Williams and Jags are our 'go-to' partnership for the coming season.

Experienced, solid and good defenders.

No better way to iron out the cracks in the defence and team as a whole than to have a solid base to build from.

Nonsense, "punts" don't have to be aimless.

The difference is. You can't win every game beautiful.

But you will win more games. Keep it up Ashley. You've got a lot of money to pay off here. o_O

Plays for Argentina, respected for them.

jagielka, played for England and was hounded out for ineptitude.

I'll just leave it there.
that's more due to the footballing press than anything else. Gary Cahill has been a horror show for England yet he never takes any stick.

Still i agree williams + funes mori is potentially our mpst lethal cb pairing

there is no chance what so ever that mori will be a regular over Jagielka when all are fit and only using 2 cb's. I'm prepared for the vaulting, it won't happen. no chance, we get another cb and mori will do well to make match day squad.

You're living in the past.

Mori and Williams are the correct blend. We're not looking for two essentially the same CBs.

so within the past 5 minutes you've went into three threads (that i have seen) just to do the following

Youve stated Baines as not good enough
Stated Jagielka as not good enough
Stated Stekelenberg isn't good enough

Nice work Dave

Not quite.

I stated Williams and Mori are the future blend at CB
That we have S'tons #2 Stekelenburg's as our #1
That Pulis got what i consider to be our #1 LB

Btw, it's a bit rich you getting upset about my comments re some of our players when you've been trashing McCarthy, Cleverley, Lennon etc for the past few weeks.

Didn't realise you happened to be the moral compass of what's right and wrong on GOT Dave, sorry must have missed that Memo

Upset, nope mate, just found it amusing really.

You stated that the correct blend for us at Cb was Mori and Williams btw, not one mention from you about 'for the future' but stated it as for the present - but nice revisionism
Managers choice to go with the keeper who is showing the form he is mate, at leats this manager is chosing a player for goal that is showing good form rather than whatever Martinez reasons happened to be that week for sticking with Howard
Your the only one who considered Galloway as our number 1 left back mate, even Martinez didn't consider him that way did he?

BTW - is there any Martinez signing at the club that you are currently criticising or advocating a reduced role int he team or uis it all players who where here before him and came after him?

That Martinez shrine you have must cost a fortune in candles to keep it ever burning mate, surprised you have never accused Baines of taking 30 pieces of silver for his betrayal of your messiah thus far

I'm not any moral compass and dont claim to be. I post a view which you may or may not agree with.

On the players: I dont boil it down to Martinez or Moyes players when assessing their skills and character. If they're hopeless and/or snides I could care less who signed them - I'd prefer they weren't at the club.

Mori should start ahead of Jagielka
Galloway should start ahead of Baines
Robles is equal with Stekelenberg
McCarthy is a first team player.

Bit of a trend though isn't there?
