Sky reporting that we have not made an approach for Williams and at this stage there's no interest, it's all paper talk. Whatever the truth, it's clear we are being linked with all and sundry and will continue to be, we can keep arguing over phantom signings for the next 4 weeks or we can ignore it and get on with our lives, personally think he's be a great signing for us - discuss.

Williams. He could be a quick fix to to the defence just not in long terms.

That lid from twitter from a few pages ago is stating a medical is placed for 2pm today for him and the deal is agreed in principle.

Twitter and all that, but Monday excitement is needed.

Williams is a proven PL CB, and has been viewed as one of the most solid in the League for the last few seasons. He was also one of the best CB's at the Euro's, I don't see where this signing lacks ambition at all.

Enjoy watching a central defense of Dad's army Jagielka/Williams. Sorry mate but you are never going to convince me that the new regime at Everton is seriously taking us anywhere if they go down this route.

And I am not criticizing Williams as a footballer, but "my type" is expecting other things from those that promised us more.

If signing him to play with jags I presume it's not stability really is it, long term wise. And we should be doing just this if were minted

That Euros was a very poor standard IMO - signing a player on Euro performances can be very dangerous thing to do - Look I like Asheley Williams of three years ago 75 k per week to is not cheap IMO!

2-3 years is about the average a player stays at one team these days anyway.

Will definiately go for younger CB myself. If Williams is signed I have no complaint however think we need to buy two new CB in two years time. Jags and Williams are in the twilight of their careers in 2018. People may say young acedemy CB （don't court Galloway）will be ready by the time but I won't place a big bet on it bearing in mind not a lot of acedemy players made it as PL footballers since 2000.
