I hate being 33 and seeing people say 31 is way too old, makes me feel old, like Ashley Williams, but older.

One of the things we were missing for much of last season was leadership on the pitch. Williams will deffo give us this - so it's a yes from me.

as a defender he's in his prime.

We bought Distin at 31 and he gave us five very good years, with the last season proving just too much.

Absolutely no concerns about signing Williams. Good defender, good leader and gets stuck right in.

I think as a team we are mentally weak because we don't have great leaders. Thats not a slight on Jags, who am sure is capable, but I just don't get the leader vibe from him.

More people who can influence and lead the better IMO

10 mill for williams now is pretty much todays 5 mill for distin and i think the results would be the same

Williams would be good signing in many ways. ..especially leadership wise.

And you are right about Jags too.

Strootman would be another good signing in that respect. Leader type.

we'd be gutted haha i think it's fair to say the new owners haven't exactly pushed their weight around much yet. Anyone should fancy a flutter on them going down if their summer goes like the papers are thinking.

I'm hoping that if he's interested in Williams and Fonte then it's because he's seen potential in some of our youngsters who will eventually step up.
