there's four and a half weeks of the window left...

the last time we rushed into a transfer we ended up with Niasse.

I'd rather have to wait a few weeks to sign our no.1 targets than be happy settling for a back up straight away

That happened because Martinez sold Naismith and was screwed over with Jarmołenko. Niasse clearly was a panic buy.

Now. It looks like our no 1 targets dont want to play for Everton. We're not even their second choice. Stones (and maybe Lukaku) will get sold and there will be no decent players left to buy for a replacement and we'll go for some strange players like gardner, traore or now niasse.

Williams is one of the better premier league defenders imo. Worth a buy. And 10mln is silly money when compared to the prices of Witsel and Koulibaly

To be honest, my rating of Williams is based on his performances for Swansea which have have always been solid. Also first hand seeing him at against Everton, when he has always stood out as a good defender and organiser of his back 4. I agree his performances for Swansea last season were certainly not of someone on his last legs.

Would be a solid addition for a relatively reasonable price.

Fits an area of need for us, would help address how utterly pathetic we have been defending crosses and set pieces, and would be a vocal presence at the back. 10M is negligible in today's market. Really hope he signs.
