It would certainly make sense. He'd be a good signing for them but, as far as coming here, unless we're offering him large amounts of cash, I think we all expect him to stay at Swansea really.

Why does it matter? And what has it got to do with the 'war chest'?
I don't know about you but the main talking point was the reason why Koeman came to us was to spend up to 100 million on star players, so EFC would be again be a force to be reckoned with, still time but I do not want him to buy deadwood in Ashley Williams, sorry we have just paid Leicester a undisclosed fee for an DOF to get unknown great bargains for the future!

Doesn't mean every player we sign has to be 30million+ with a fancy surname who does ace step overs. We need a centre half (maybe 2 if/when Stones goes), I don't see the problem with having a player like Williams to fill the void (ooo err missus) while Walsh does his scouting thang for the next big thing.
Calling a player who captains his current premier league club as 'deadwood' is just daft tbh
What players would you like mate. Remember we have no European footy and can pay just above average wages. Don't forget the teams don't want to sell until they have sorted a replacement. Catch 22 I think it's called.

Deadwood is harsh - his performances have been far better than our defenders. Seems if it's not 30m upwards were not happy. Stones is valued at 50m yet look at him last year, right now Williams is a much better and effective defender in the premier league.
You were also a big fan of Roberto, and we know how that went so don't be shocked that i don't value your opinion on football matters. WILLIAMS is a very good addition to our sqaud, experienced, good in the air and a commander at the back. Captain material
Leicester did not have to splash the cash, it's the age and profit of selling on if need be, I was around when we signed Colin Todd, Dave Clements who turned out to be ok players, lost money selling on that's my point, maybe Williams can come in , and do a good job for a limited period I like younger squads personally!

It's covered in another thread that ( I think ) Esk started the other day, but I think it was the Echo that started talk of a 100 million spend. The reality, at least in terms of net spend, is likely to be quite a bit different. I'd say the only way we're going to spend 100 million is by selling a player or players for >= 50 million.
If we have a net spend of more than 50 million I'll be bloody amazed.

That Euros was a very poor standard IMO - signing a player on Euro performances can be very dangerous thing to do - Look I like Asheley Williams of three years ago 75 k per week to is not cheap IMO!
