Ok

There’s positives.
We can score goals again. We no longer have a problem putting it in the net. For me, that’s been the biggest factor in our struggles. Now, I think it’s not such an issue.
Ok, we’ve gone to pieces at the other end for some reason, but we know Dyche can sort that out.
Terrible, terrible result today, but I see rays of real hope.
(Don’t hate me!)
It should be far easier sorting a team out defensively than offensively

Have to credit Villa, got their act together, good management, solid foundations there to push on.

With us it’s constant calls for stability.

“We need stability “

No. The club itself needs a reboot. Calls for stability is just keeping the same people in place with the same culture hoping a new manager changes things.

I really hope whoever takes over guts the place inside out and puts proper people in place in the right roles.

Anything else is just a waste of time.

Just back.

There was a resignation as soon as it went back to 2-1.

Frustrating to lose to a wonder strike but Villa were getting round the back plenty of times so think the winner would've come anyway.

Ndiaye is something to cling onto in the final third. With his touch and quick feet he has that extra class to drag the team up and it's ridiculous how much better he is at that than Harrison and McNeill.

Nobody was terrible tonight but I think they were genuinely shocked to be 2-0 up given how dominant Villa were for first 20 minutes and I'm afraid the rest of the game just turned out like last year.

Leicester is monumental, simply can't be losing there.

He went round the keeper for the first. He had beaten him. The fact he hasnt got eyes in the back of his head means he didnt see the defender coming. One off the bar possibly should have scored but he was under pressure and not even sure the defender didnt get a touch. He was excellent today. Non so blind as them that can see. Can only see us getting better going forward when Ndiaye and Jesper get fit. Thank Christ we didnt sell Branthwaite.
Yeh agreed! We scored 2 again and lost because defensively we can’t defend. Just silly decisions that you see from us match after match.

People need to chill out. Not one single Everton fan I know expected something today, most people thought we would get hammered 4-5 nil. What we got was a decent game against a champions league team. They were clearly the better side, but it was only separated by fine margins at the end.
Wish could think like this but is just pure frustration hope so for me is gettin a fit JB back into the team. Then ffs just some luck in the fb positions every f week is something go on none of them stay fit apart from young

Ermm failing to score 2 1v1's isn't really excellent is it?

Was he onside for the first one? He was looking to square it and Konsa got back and it just went past the post. The other one the Villa fans were claiming a foul before he shot.

First 20 minutes he roughed up both their CBs and Pau Torres didn't want to know in any aerial duel after that, was constantly standing off him. Some of DCL's runs across the defensive line were excellent but it's then getting the support up to him.

Main hope this season is he and Ndiaye stay fit and can get a good combination going. McNeil average in number 10 but at least centrally he can get shots away from edge of the box and hopefully that means he can chip in with 5-6.

Beyond that it's praying for Branthwaite to get fit soon. Myko going off isn't great news either for the next few weeks either.
