Well, I enjoyed that!! Clever change of formation worked well and we kept them well away from our goal for most of the game. Like the Brentford game, they really looked like they believed in the plan and their team mates. A bit of a wobble with conceding but it didn’t matter. So well done to all, on and off the pitch. MoM for me = Garner and Onana.

We started the game well with the high press and we were very comfortable by forcing mistakes and actually playing good footy. The last 20 odd minutes concerned me when we decided to protect the lead thus inviting Villa onto us. The game worked out OK with a 2-1 win but I just felt that if we continued with the high press when 2-0 then we could of punished Villa even more.

Listen it is not a complaint..........we have played some proper footy the last 2 games and hopefully it will continue but I feel unsafe when we do the low block as we struggle to get out. This high press is impressive and it looks like we finally have a plan and playing as a team rather than being 11 individuals.

Only when there's VAR. No VAR in the Carabao early rounds.

It won't work against every team. We couldn't play the high press against arsenal or city because their defenders are too good on the ball. But it worked really well today
