…I’m not religious but I like the ideology of religion. The concept of helping others, being respectful seems the basis of most religions. I see the personal comfort of those who have ‘found god’ and how it helps them deal with life’s problems. Sadly, others interpret religious teachings in a different way.

Got in trouble today having Xmas lunch with the whole family.

My fam are old school devote Catholics.

Sitting around the table and I only caught the back end of a conversation they were having: '... The church is in trouble, I can't believe the priest did that!'

Of course they were talking about something innocuous like the priest and the parish council are having a minor disagreement over something silly.

Without even thinking, the first words that came out of my mouth (and I swear I wasn't trying to stir the pot like our good acquaintance @chicoazul is trying to do with this thread ) were: 'Oh for goodness sake! Did he get caught diddling kids? FFS, how many this time?!'

Needless to say, I left lunch early...
