I like Oviedo. If it wasnt for Baines he would have gotten alot of games for us.
Not as bad as Chris Waddle saying "pelanty".
They'll do better in competitive games. It's just the 1st game of preseason and that's more about fitness than result.

Over time he could be baines's replacement not good enough yet but has ability no doubt and still youngish
...I know its pre-season but I hope this stops the clamour to give him a 'run of games'. As I posted earlier on another thread, imagine giving him a run against the likes of Benticke or RVP, folk would soon be complaining.

Agreed. Would have been nice if a youngster had stood out more (in a positive sense) but all-in-all a fair enough performance for first pre-season. No worries from me yet. Duffy is young ... all this proves is he isn't ready yet (which most of us knew) but every top defender has had games like that when they were young. Hell Heitinga still has them.

FT. Duffy crap. Don't think we'll ever see Hibbert going past a player, always playing backwards. Howard will have a hard time getting Robles behind him. Gibson had a decent game, same had Baines and Pienaar. None of the youngsters took their chances, but I must say Grant did look promising, always wanting the ball.
